This is a newly created Government department which brings together much of the Climate Change Group previously housed within the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Energy Group from the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR).
Committee on Climate Change

IPCC: Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
The role of the IPCC is to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis the scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant to understanding the scientific basis of risk of human-induced climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation. The IPCC does not carry out research itself nor does it monitor climate data.

The Energy Saving Trust provides information and advice on energy efficiency in the home.

Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research
Based in Exeter, this world –class centre produces data and guidance on the science of climate change. Their work includes the further understanding of natural climate change, the development of climate models and the computer simulation of regional and global climates to predict change over the next 100 years.
